Skeleton Costumes - 1957

These boys enjoyed their skeleton costumes so much they were still wearing them in November of 1957 according to the caption at the bottom of the photo. It appears that they have the old hard plastic masks that had the thin elastic string to hold it snug to your noggin. Most times though, if the elastic was lucky enough to make it through a night of trick-or-treating it would usually snap at some point and sting you in the ear as it broke.

Oh the good old days when candy was filled with pure cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.
