Brooklyn Bridge opened this day in 1883

Here is a shot of the Brooklyn Bridge in 1919, 36 years after it opened in 1883. It took 14 years to build, at this time, the largest suspension bridge and was instantly dubbed, “the eighth wonder of the world.”
