Photobooth picture of a man, 1945

Photobooth portrait of a man circa 1945

The Henry Ford recently began uploading pictures to flickr from their collection and my favorite series, hands down, is the collection of photobooth portraits. They are a mysterious peak into the past.

For instance, did this young man fight in World War II? Did he come home unscathed from the savages of war? He has a hint of a mischievous smile and looks to be a snappy dresser.

I wonder who he was and the life he lived. That’s the beauty of old portraits.
