Labor Day (May Day) parade in New York City circa 1909

This 1909 Labor Day parade on the rain-soaked streets of New York City makes for an interesting look when you view the full-size photo. In the actual-size photo you can see an interested Notary Public viewing the parade from his dry second-story office. I wonder what he thought of the “Study Socialism” sign being carried by one of the members of the parade.
