That old phrase, “You’ve come a long way, baby!” comes to mind when I view this old photo. I’m not sure how the beach can be very refreshing for a lady back in 1905 when she had to wear such a bathing suit. However, maybe it’s not so bad. Call me a prude, but as the father of a daughter this suit looks more appealing than what you see at the beach nowadays. Maybe we haven’t come such a long way.
On a side note:
I got to thinking about that phrase and did a quick internet search which turned up a brilliant old ad for Virginia Slims. I found an old Virginia Slims commercial that I’ll post for tomorrow.
